講義の目的 This course is designed to help students become more fluent as writers and critical thinkers and to familiarize students with academic writing and the use of borrowed sources. Over the course of the year, students will learn and practice a variety of pre-writing, drafting, and revising techniques while working on several academic writing projects.
到達目標 To gain a better understanding of writing and critical thinking in English as well as to practice researching and using outside sources in academic essays.

担当者プロフィール Mike Gorman earned his PhD in American literature and culture from the University of Tulsa and is especially interested in ways literature connects with rural American culture, transnationalism, and the environment.

備考 -Enrollment is limited to 25 students.
-Writing I is half of a full-year course. Students who take Writing I are expected to take Writing II in the second semester.
-The course schedule is tentative and may change.
-This class will be taught entirely in English, and students are expected to use English actively in class.
-Attendance is mandatory. Students who miss more than 3 classes will not receive credit.
-Assignments/homework must be submitted at the beginning of class on the day they are due.
-Late assignments/homework/projects will not be accepted.
